Happy Birthday Elysa!!

Would it be a cliche to say that we couldn’t do Smart Mouths without Elysa? Yes, it would. Besides, we COULD do the show without her. But let’s be perfectly honest here, it wouldn’t be nearly half as good if we did.

Elysa is our girl who lives in the middle of nowhere, who takes our mocking her about it with such good a natured attitude that one might think she moved to SoMa for OUR benefit. She is our resident political expert, our staunch social liberal who loves to surprise us by reminding us that she has some conservative political leanings as well. She is our classic rock (i.e., good music) guru who was definitely born a few years too late for the awesome classic t-shirts she likes to sport. She doesn’t realize it but she is a voice of reason on the show. Someone who gives a lick of credibility to what otherwise might be a free for all of inappropriate jokes, cynicism, and totally inaccurate facts.

Most of all though, Elysa is an amazing friend. As all of us can attest, Elysa doesn’t have an ounce of selfish in her when it comes to her friends. She is the first to ask what’s going on with YOU when in all fairness, the conversation should be about HER. She is a great listener, a confidant and a friend who provides enough uniqueness that she makes you think you’re not completely alone in your world of crazy. So let’s raise our Pomegranate Martini’s (if we’re 21 or older) to Elysa (Elysa, if you have one- make sure to lay the glass gently on the table when you’re done) and wish her an amazing birthday! We love you!
