I loved the live show! it was so much fun! and the 2 hours went by so fast! the only thing is that i wish matt was on camera as well as andrew. seeing as how he was sitting like 3 feet away from andrew, i think he should have been in view too. other than that though, i LOVED it, and can’t wait until the next one!!

  • Michelle

thanks so much for answering my call! sorry about the nervousness but ily!

    xx

Can’t wait to listen to the whole thing! I used a time zone converter thing on the net to work out what time this would be for me (as I live in New Zealand), which told me it would be 2pm on Monday. However, when I checked in at like 1:30 you guys were already up to two truths, one lie! I was so disappointed! Anyway it’s not you guys’ fault. Maybe next time you could put up a couple of different time zones so that people like me have a few to cross check when we do the conversion? lol. I agree with the first poster, from what I saw I did really want to see more of Matt, seeing as I knew he was there! Wow sorry for the super long comment, I’ll just say that I love the show and can’t wait for the next episode :)

  • Bobby

Haha! Great episode. I thought it was pretty cool when Andrew took his stand against Laura in the immigration discussion.

  • Amy Kaye

I didnt get to listen to episode 10 live which was disappointing but I loved listening to it the next day when I managed to download it.
It was a great discussion, and Billy Bob Thorton is a massive dickhead. Yeah, Disney stars like the Jonas Brothers always get a big headstart like this but if you think about it they never really get anywhere, they just end up as has-beens. And they cant sing anyway. They sound like girls. Lame!!
My main response was to Andrews story about shitting himself at school. Thank you SO much for obviously having way too much influence over me because as I write this, I just woke up from a very horrible and vivid dream that I shit myself at school. Outside on the football field. With people watching. People KNOWING it was me!! And.. wait for it….. TWICE!!
Not a very nice sleep, and I blame it on Andrew dearest =P

This episode was HILARIOUS!!! I can’t even pick out a favorite part because I loved everything. Andrew should keep that poop story quiet from this point onward and I would really like to hear some background on Penny being held at gunpoint and Micah being hit on by Katie Couric…that was really interesting.

On a serious note, the caller who gave more of a background to the whole Somalian pirate situation really intrigued me. I had no idea that Nuclear waste was beind dumped near their land. It makes alot of sense for them to be angry and want to protect their environment. I think it’s really sad and I think they probably only kidnapped that reporter to draw attention because they clearly aren’t getting any if the rest of the world is using their country as a GARBAGE dump and is polluting their water source. It’s really sad.

  • Celia

And I also would like to add…that Disney stars need to be given alot more credit…Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, and Keri Russell all started out with Disney and look how far they’ve come (not counting Britney’s breakdown).

TMI ANDREW! Please, no more stories about defecating!

  • Bec

Great show, Andrews shitting his pants was bloody funny. could listen to it live unfortunately i had to work:( i actually didn’t know who the jonas brothers are or Hannah Montana. i don’t have cable t.v. plus i live in Australia. sounds like i’m not missing much.

i was a bit disappointed that the political situation in Thialand (protests against the government for days) or whats happened in Fiji in the last few days (has become a military dictatorship). i guess maybe you haven’t heard about it, you guys said a few episodes ago that your world news is not extensive in the U.S.
Anyway great show and can’t wait for the next one.

  • Sam

that shitting story from Andrew was possibly the best thing ever. i think there should be more embarrassing stories overall.

maybe there should be a segment called, “willingly and publicly humiliate yourself”. it would be total jokes

  • PolishBeauty

Haha..I loved the whole mocking Jonas Brother thing and mocking “Ninio” or whatever the elephant is. Haha. I had a really bad day and when I listened to this it made me feel loads better. Thanks for doing the podcast=)

Hey guys! Missed the liveness due to work, but am about halfway through the episode now. Good ep, I’m enjoying it, but there have been two things that kind of irked me.

First, in your pop culture discussion (which is my least favorite part of the show) you mentioned one subject I’m into: Scientology. Rather, I’m into the fight against it.

Please do a little research into this so-called religion, its history, and its practices. I’m not against it as a religion, if it was actually run that way, but it is not, it is run as a business, that gets tax exemption status as a religion. Look up “Operation Snowhite” or “Operation Freakout” or “Lisa McPherson”. Also look into thier work/concetration camp at thier headquaters at Gold Base, it is called the RPF, and thier coercered/forced abortions on members, thier practice of “Fair Game” (attacking thier critics) or disconnection (fording members to cut off friends and family who disagree with thier beliefs). A few good websites would be http://www.exscientologykids.com, http://www.xenu.net, and http://www.fairgamed.org.

Over the past year a loose affiliation of hackers called Anonymous rose up to challeneg and take down Scientology because of their abuse of copyright laws and the Church’s actions against free speech. Since it’s inception, Anonymous has staged worldwide protests and actions against the church and it’s dealings, and recently in California, journalist Nathan Baca has been doing an excellent investigative series on Scientology for his news station KESQ in Palm Springs, please check out the video archive for that: http://www.kesq.com/Global/category.asp?C=162474

The second item that I caught was in your discussion on immigration: mainly the argument for terrorists sneaking into the country. To my knowledge and research this has never been proven, yet it was a concept thrown into the immigration/national security debate by John Ashcroft (the man who brought us such gems as the Patriot Act I and II) during his tenure as Attorney General under Bush. However, all sucessful terrorists in this country have either been home grown (Timothy McVeigh: Oklahoma City) or came into the country LEGALLY on student visas (the hijackers of 9/11). Illegal immigration from the Mexican border has never been proven to help w/ terrorism, in fact, a study of most terrorist organizations, shows that they try and do everything as legally as possible to avoid arousing suspicion and observation until they carry out thier plans. The terrorism threat has been used precisely for that, terror, to terrorize Americans into latching into the total anit-immigration stance of members of the far right. It is just fear-mongering. My biggest argument for tightening the borders is for the violence in Mexico with drug cartels spilling over into Texas and Cali, and for the Meth road from Mexico up through California. Immigration reform and restructuring is needed across the board, but the prevention of violence, human trafficing, and narcotics smuggling is needed as well.

  • Alex

Hey, basically i wanted to comment on your discussion regarding immigration. First off i would like to dispel the myth that illegal immigrants are bad for the economy. In fact, they are very helpful. They provide labor at a fraction of the cost that employers would be forced to pay Americans, this in turn frees up capital to be invested else where in the economy. People complain that Mexicans are taking Americans jobs, its competition morons, labor unions actually strangle the economy by forcing employers to pay exorbitant wages, just look at Ford and GM. It really gets to me when people bring up the BS about “security”, stop fucking worrying about terrorists, and start worrying about your government treating you like medieval serfs(http://www.lewrockwell.com/roberts/roberts265.html). Its our government trying to police the world, playing Risk with the world that has created this so called “terrorism.” wake up people!!!

  • Áine-Máire NíC

Hey, thanks for a great episode!
Although I did look like a psycho, laughing hysterically about Ninio as I was walking through the woods by my house lol

One little gripe, however. At the very beginning of the episode you were talking about Easter. And being honest, I found it a little offensive. HOWEVER, I’m not calling for you to censor your thoughts! Here, like many other Catholics, I attended mass on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As is tradition. And on each of these occasions the Church was full. (well except for Sunday’s, but that was outside at dawn) I know that Ireland is perhaps a predominantly Christian country (overwhelmingly so), but in a country with millions of Christians I found it incomprehensible that Matt could say offhandedly, ‘oh, well nobody goes to mass anymore’.
I respect that you may not share my beliefs and I’m not out to convert you. I’m no bible-basher! All I ask is that you in turn respect the beliefs of others.
I find it so frustrating, that people may disrespect Christianity and Jesus with such blatant disregard (not you specifically, just in general) while one ill-timed remark or cartoon about Islam is met with affront and cries of racism.

Sorry about the long comment! It’s just something that’s bothered me a while. I hope you don’t think that I’m overreacting.
    Rant over.
    Great show : )

  • aubreeze

i agree with that one chick about catholics. i’m catholic too so i frowned at that, but the rest of the show made up for it especially the jonas brothers stuff. lol. they suck SOOOO MUCH! ;D

  • Erica

i know on the show there was a question about how old the oldest of the jonas brothers was so to clarify; kevin jonas is 21 which i think makes the entire “jo bro” tale even sadder. oh & he was featured in last years people magazines issue of sexiest man alive. omg ew.

Wow guys. That might have been the best show so far! I didn’t know that they could get any better but congrats. I just wanted to say thank you. Thanks to you, WTF news, and Ninio I have a higher Ancient History grade. We do current events once a week and I knew so much about certain stories I received extra credit points. Just wanted to let you know. Keep up the great work.

  • Farah

Awesome show, you guys! Can’t wait for what’s gunna be coming next! Unfortunately, being from Kuwait, the live show would’ve been at, like, 3 a.m. or something like that and I had school.

Can’t believe I missed that (it would have been my first live show)

    Bleeh. Damn school.

Smart Mouths rocks, and keep up the awesome show!

P.S. Andrew: “(laughing too hard to speak)”

  • Abby Carlson

Wait, Andrew, you went to see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway in 8th grade. That was 2004 right? With Christy Carlson Romano?! I was there at some point that year!

  • Vonnie Swiler
