Yes, just downloaded it! Can’t wait to listen!
Looking forward to seeing what “the hot seat” brings to the show

I loved the show, like always.
I just wanted to say to Penny, I just read Paper Towns too and I loved it!
April 21st, 2009 on 6:46 PM
Just downloaded the episode, and listening now! But, I totally disagree w/ the fact that we (the U.S.) let Israelis gain citizenship easier than other immigrants. My Israeli friend barely managed to live here for 5 years. I’ll write a more email later lol.

I’m so excited to listen!
April 21st, 2009 on 6:59 PM
Loved this one, especially Mickey (lol).

I hate to plug but there’s a Smart Mouths forum up for anybody who wants to join. Even though the SM hosts plan to make their own forum, I don’t know when exactly that is so it could be either in a few weeks, to a few months. Until then, however, because I’m sure we’ll all join and enjoy it… I think it’d be great to establish some sort of Smart Mouths community and get to know everybody before we join the official one. Here’s the link for anybody who’s interested: http://smforum.ipbfree.com/
As for the new episode, I think you all did very well despite the lack of Laura and Andrew, in fact, it was quite refreshing. I love the new segment The Hot Seat and think it’s a great way to get to know more about the hosts.
As for Matt being a look alike of anyone, I saw a DVD packet a few weeks ago and thought Matt looked like this particular actor on the front… and god knows what this’ll do to his ego. Check it out! http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1840421888/tt0259711

You mentioned several times that CNN reports tons of fake breaking news or pop culture news, that only happens on United States’ CNN. I live in Dominican Republic, and CNN here is more about significant news, they have a pop culture section but that’s only like on thrusday.
Love your podcasts and apologize by sucky grammar
April 21st, 2009 on 8:51 PM
Yes matt! Bring on the mickey!!!
April 21st, 2009 on 11:33 PM
Hey guys! awesome show. As a citizen of Texas not in favor of seceding, just wanted to point out that almost the second after Rick Perry threatened to secede, the Texas Senate voted unanimously to cut off funding to his office if he ever said something stupid like that again, hence the retraction.

I have become SmartMouths’ bastard love child/crack baby!
Elysa – I am so glad you were reserving judgement on UN meeting. After the news came out with Iran Pres. very interesting eh?? I am proud of the countries who were boycotting this farce of an event. The UN is not always right!
Matt’s Mickey immitation was priceless at every turn, although I felt bad for Elyse, I cracked up so much this episode! Your improv comments are precious!
I like the complete mix of the group this time. Changing it up like this was Primo. Micah was the level-headed one this week. Kudos.
My Promo on facebook is already out there and will hopefully increases the avg. age of your listener and simultaneously reduce the % of positive emails on Jonas Bros. This is, after all, an explicit podcast.
Finally – Chuck Norris sucks!
April 22nd, 2009 on 10:50 AM
So i hadn’t heard any of this news about Susan Boyle before the show, and i just went and watched the video. She is amazing, and a surprise to the entire crowed i am sure. I had never seen Simon smile before, it was grand.
Keep up the amazing work guys.
p.s Those Chuck Norris jokes were hilarious.
p.s.s Elysa was sooo right, Adam Lambert= FUCKING AMAZING!
p.s.s.s I missed Andrew, but you guys were awesome without him anyways. loveeeee you all!
April 22nd, 2009 on 12:28 PM
Hello Smart Mouths! I just listened to the podcast, and trust me, I LAWLZed during a lot of it. It was hilariously funny, and still had great discussion.
And Penny- I am so glad that you are a nerdfighter! You being a nerdfighter just makes you even more awesome, if that’s possible… which it is.
NERDFIGHTERS UNITE!

I loved this show! it was so funny! mickey was hilarious! i think the telling 5 facebook friends about the show is a great idea! and i was trying to think of other ways to get the word out about the show, and i thought maybe you guys can make a flyer (maybe the kind with the fringe stuff at the bottom, where you put the website on it vertically and cut slits in the paper, then people can just tear it off and take it with them) and post it here on the website, then we can all print it out put them up around our town.
anyway… love the show, and can’t wait until next week!
April 22nd, 2009 on 5:31 PM
It was great to hear from Elysa. This show was so funny. I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. Also, did you know that Chuck Norris once walked down the street with a massive erection? There we no survivors.
April 22nd, 2009 on 6:13 PM
Hey Guys, loved the show as always! I was listening to it at like 11pm and had to try really hard to stifle my giggles at Mickey Mouse. Matt, that was priceless! Like toher people have mentioned, I enjoyed having Elysa back on the show as she hasn’t been on in a while. My only complaint was there wasn;t enough mocking of Andrew in his absense! Ither than that, it was awesome and I can’t wait till the next ep
Love from New Zealand x
April 22nd, 2009 on 7:37 PM
Great job this week, as per usual-and Greg: Don’t let the other hosts get you down. Did you know that after Chuck Norris passed through the Virgin Islands they were just called the Islands?
April 22nd, 2009 on 8:11 PM
hey guys, i’m listenin to the episode right now. hilarious.. i love listening to you guys especially the random chuck norris jokes and mickey
so i don’t know how you guys got on the topic of gender determination but i’ll clear it up for you even though it’s pretty irrevelant to the show. we’re learning about it now in bio (and i’m actually not failing lol just kidding matt). Anyways so we have 46 chromomes. 23 chromosomes from our mom and same for dad. females gender chromosomes are XX while males are XY. The only one the mother can contribute is an X chromosome so really the choice lies within the father (even though he can’t physically control obviously). The father either gives the fetus the X or Y determining the gender. I hope that clears things up for you guys. I just wanted to put in my 2 cents about that
Thanks for the great podcast
Mia!

Hey guys, I love your podcast! I’m listening to it right now and I’m crackin up at the random Chuck Norris jokes and the Mickey Mouse!
So I don’t know how you guys got on the topic of gender determination, but I thought I could help clear things up for you guys. We’re learning about it in bio right now. Okay so we all have 46 chromosomes which determines who we are. 23 from the mom, 23 from the dad. 2 of those are what we call “sex” chromosomes. Females have XX and males have XY. When two parents mate, the mom can only give an X chromosome since that’s all she has so it’s up to the guy what gender the baby is. If the dad gives an X, it’s a girl. If the dad gives a Y, then it’s a boy. It’s pretty basic, but I thought I’d put in my two cents. Thanks for reading
and keep up the great work

yay! I can’t wait to listen. Perfect timing too because I’m about to pull an all nighter! I’m already laughing at the show notes and everyone’s comments, so I already know this is going to be GREAT!

Regardless of what Rick Perry’s history is, the concept of secession is very important. As modern americans having been run through a socialist government schooling (not education, schooling) system, you may laugh your ignorant asses off at this, however, intelligent people, who understand history will know that the United States of America is a collection of states. Individual free states. They have all agreed to form a Union, however, several states have made explicit clauses in there state constitutions expressing there right to secede from the union should they find the Federal Government abusing its powers, or unconstitutionally abusing its authority. This is why the civil war was fought, it only indirectly involved slavery. For an insightful and relatively brief book on Lincoln and the Civil War, read Thomas DiLorenzo’s “The Real Lincoln”. Back to the point, Lincoln, broke nearly all constitutional bounds on the federal government and physically forced a peaceful southern confederation from exercising there right to secession. Killing roughly 620,000 people. Since the war of northern agression, Americans have never had the same freedoms we were meant to have. Laugh all you want, but you’re only showing your complete lack of intelligence and disinterest in freedom and Liberty. The threat of secession was the only power the states had to prevent the federal government from becoming the bloated dictatorial, fascist, corrupt monstrosity that it is now.

Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise.

Chuck Norris doesn’t read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.
Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding.

If Greg were an MC fangirl he’d know that Jamie (oh where oh where is he) was quite fond of the Chuck Norris jokes and even adapted quite a few of them to fit our dear friend Albus Dumbledore.
April 23rd, 2009 on 9:00 AM
here is a brief explanation of the importance of the principle of secession:

THANK you Sam! Why didn’t Micah or Matt acknowledge Jamie’s insane history of Dumbledore/Norris facts??
I have to say the show feels less ‘led’ without Andrew so I wish he had been there… nice mix though.
The Hot Seat was good. You need some way more embarrassing questions though!
April 23rd, 2009 on 11:53 AM
Hey Smart Mouths. Great show this week. Elysa, I think it’s awesome that you’re an Adam Lambert (His voice is phenomenal!), and Matt, people are correct when they say you look like him. I can especially see the resemblance in this picture: http://mycelebrityguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/adam-lambert-picture.jpg Take a look!
April 23rd, 2009 on 11:53 AM
*an Adam Lambert FAN
April 23rd, 2009 on 12:43 PM
Oh God, I love Adam to a ridiculous degree. But if I start to see Matt as Adam, the inevitable result will be a sexual molestation case on my hands and a rather large psychiatrist bill on his.
♥ to you all. =)
April 23rd, 2009 on 2:52 PM
hahaha. Love the show. Sorry but Andrew is a slightly better host, good job though. Did u know Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door?
April 23rd, 2009 on 6:05 PM
Nicole- I am not a full fledged nerdfighter yet. I’ve only read 1/3 of his books….and I only occasionally watch the youtube videos….
April 23rd, 2009 on 8:25 PM
elysa, in the “hot seat” you said you didn’t have a trait that people envied, but there is one. i wish i knew as much about politics and world stuff as you did. you’re like a genius at it!
April 24th, 2009 on 9:17 AM
Penny was a fan host, well done!!
In fact, due to her nerdfighterlyness, she may just be my fave host now =D (come on Andrew, she’a beating you!!!)
talking of nerdfighters, I’d be really interested to hear you guys discussing internet culture (for lack of a better phrase). I’d love to know more about your views on that sort of stuff – the only example I can think of right now is youtube, but I’m sure it’d make a great pop culture discussion!!
April 24th, 2009 on 9:17 AM
**fab, silly me XD
April 24th, 2009 on 9:21 AM
Also (sorry to be completely spamming your comments) this episode of SM sparked a rather enjoyable day of Chuck Norris related humour (i.e me annoying everyone around me with a wide array of norris jokes.) =D
And clearly I’ve missed Jamie’s norris/dumbledore jokes!! *feels shocked, ashamed* although i did only start lsitening to MC in nov 08, and haven’t listened to a lot of the olders eps, so ah well. Something to look forward to.
April 24th, 2009 on 4:44 PM
Elysa: I LOVE Adam Lambert with a passion and was thrilled when you guys mentioned him lol. But I don’t really see his resemblance to Matt…. (By the way, did you hear/see Adam’s performance last week? “If I Can’t Have You.” Ridiculously incredible. <3<3<3)
April 24th, 2009 on 9:27 PM
Mia – thank you. That’s very kind of you to say, and I appreciate the support more than you know.
Rachel – I don’t quite see the resemblance either! They’re both cute, but in really different ways, I think. And YES, I did see his latest performance! Incredible for sure! I’m totally going to the Idol tour this summer just to see him.
April 26th, 2009 on 4:17 AM
Wonderful show guys! But am I the only one morbidly curious as to what exactly happened to Elysa with Mickey Mouse?
April 27th, 2009 on 9:46 AM
I’ve got a feeling you guys will enjoy this (Penny may already have seen it) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQiLngzLiGI =D
oh, and you’re not alone, Maureen!! Please share, Elysa!!!!
April 28th, 2009 on 12:10 PM
Greg – Search TWiF in the iTunes store. Episode 12 has the creator of the the Chuck Norris ‘facts’ as a co-host.

Lay off the Cartman noises. While it was funny the first one or two times, it just got annoying after that. Also, Cartman can actually say fuck if the Comedy Central so wished on the cable broadcast. Cable channels is not bound to the same rules as satellite and broacasted channels are, since it is not being transmitted over public air waves (Yes cable companies use satellites, but these aren’t considered public air waves, since the public can not access them. Anyone with a satellite dish can receive satellite channels though, which is why you need a decoder box to watch satellite TV).

13 year old boy robs Peoria bank at gunpoint…
Normal reactions would be wtf. I unfortunately go to college there and its sad that things like this do not surprise me at all anymore in lovely Peoria.
Love the show!!
