Once again, great show guys!
What a good number!
I was glad to have both Andrew and Laura back on the show this week (not that I didn’t like the show from last week!)
So, I took that quiz and I got 43%..same a Laura
Also, as much as I love South Park, Mickey Mouse definitly wins when it comes to characters on the show. Matt, that impression is absolutly priceless! I love it!
Anyways, great show, great segments (especially WTF news). Look forward to next weeks show!

Just found out about this website, thought it might interest you. It was made by Natalie Portman and others and is I guess a sort of imdb made by filmmakers. http://makingof.com/ I think its at the formative stages but once it gets going I’m sure a LOT of people are going to be using it.

Great show… I think you missed the point a little when talking about Blagojevic and the “reality” TV show in the roundup, and recommend Leonard Pitts’ article on the topic (actually, I recommend always reading his articles if you don’t already) http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/opinion/2009117899_opina26pitts.html. I think he gets at a more important element of this story and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Keep up the excellent work.

While watching the Daily Show (Monday, 4/27) I saw what Laura was talking about. Reporter Elaine Quijano had asked if the SWINE FLU was BIOTERROISM at the CDC press conference. After the CDC guy said that “nothing in our work would suggest anything but a naturally occuring event.” She then went on to ask again, asking if they had ruled out Bioterrorism. Ridiculous.

Hey Smart Mouths. I loved the show this week, especially the “Gay-o-meter” segment, as I think quizzes are a great way to get us listeners involved (I’m 23% gay, by the way).
Since somebody asked during this week’s discussion, I thought I’d offer my help in pronouncing the name of Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. During my senior year of high school, my Contemporay Social Science teacher made the whole class repeat it until we got it right (I know, you’d think he’d have more crucial things to worry about). Anyway, “Mahmoud” is said like “Mahk-mahd.” The k sound is rather soft and the two syllables are pronounced in a staccato manner, as if you are choking (if that makes any sense). The surname “Ahmadinejad,” on the other hand, is “Ah-muh-din-eh-zhad.”
Personally, I don’t think it matters how you said the name, but I thought I’d offer my help nonetheless. Keep up the awesome work and I look forward to next week’s show.

Thanks for the advice on the pronunciation. I know my AP Comparative Gov teacher pronounced it similarly to yours. Andrew’s pronunciation was fairly annoying. (Sorry!)

It’s President Obama’s address to the National Academy of Sciences. He speaks on the future of science and his proposed plans. This may clear up some of his stimulus plan. I remember in a previous episode where I believe Laura? said she didn’t understand why money was going to NASA.
As a future Math Teacher this was very refreshing to hear. Especially the part about the need for teachers with Math degrees (I’m a math major with a teaching option).

Lena- I had thought about restricting him in that area but truthfully I don’t really care. I don’t think it will bother him either way to cook or not to cook. If I knew he was a world class chef who would be pained not to cook for 25 hours, I might have said no cooking….but seeing as how that isn’t the case, I didn’t.

Hey guys,
I just want to have a say concerning the Swine Flu. I don’t think its a bad thing that the media is blowing things out of proportion. I think that with a heightened awareness of this outbreak (thanks to the media) it will help to stop the spread of the disease and to inform people on how to prevent themselves contracting it.
I don’t think that the Swine Flu is a reason to panic, but I do think that we should all be concerned.

Just wanted to comment on the Weirdest Lawsuit Ever story (which was very funny, by the way.) The woman’s name “Trout” sounds kind of funny to us but is actually the shortened form of a common German women’s name, Ermtrout. I only happen to know that because I am half German, and it is my aunt’s first name.
