Smart Mouths #53: The Fabulous Three
by Penny on Mar.15, 2010, under Episodes
Small show this week, just Matt, Elysa, and Penny. But what we lack in quantity we definitely make up for in quality! In this week’s episode:
-Elysa makes her hosting debut and watch out, she did great!!
-Lesbian girl can’t take her girlfriend to prom AND her school cancels it. Not cool.
-What on earth is going on in the Texas School Board? That’s not rhetorical. We really want to know.
-Matt reviews Alice in Wonderland
-RIP Corey Haim
-Backwash gets a little heated and Matt’s head almost explodes. He then becomes fairly constipated.
-Luckily a game of Google that SHIZ helps clear his constipation…and you better watch out because Jesus is a pretty cool Hufflepuff.
-Finally, another dead president joins us. And this time, he makes a very important phone call.

After listening to the discussion of changes in the Texas public school textbooks in podcast #53 I found this link on Yahoo!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1253
I think you may find it interesting that Texas textbooks aren’t just used in Texas, they are used in other states as well. Scary thought!! I am so embarrassed to be from Texas because of these right-wing nut jobs. Apparently, Everything is Bigger in Texas, especially our ignorance.
Thanks for Reading,

I loved this show! You three did amazingly! Matt’s seemingly constant sexual innuendo made me laugh out loud a couple of times, which was awkward because I was listening to the show in a public place… lol.
My favorite part was definitely Jefferson’s phone call. I think all of us Smartmouths listeners should harass the Texas school board posing as Jefferson.

Love this episode! Should do it again sometime.

Has anyone noticed that in the Lady Gaga song ”Bad Romance”, when she’s yelling towards the end ”Want your bad romance!” it sounds awful lot like Micah’s WTF news Conjugal Romance? For the criminal lovin? Or is it just me?
[[ what episode was that anyway? ]]

Hey there peeps, I’m mailing from the Canadian version of Texas called Alberta, where we have big skies, cattle rednecks and also plenty of fat people. We do however have a complete seperation of religion and education, like the rest of our country. Our money, did you know, does not say in God we trust, I think it says “Giv’er” or “Fuckin ‘eh!” who knows. My point is… Is Thomas Jeferson part of that Airplane band or what?
I am a brand new disjointed listener, I demand to be welcomed aboard!

I don’t know if ya’ll know this but as such a big state Texas is a leader it textbook purchases–if Texas buys a book, a TON of states follow the example.
Thats one of the big reasons this story came up in national news–because it doesn’t just effect this one state, but could have repercussions for a lot of other states as well. Which, I think you’ll agree, is down right upsetting.

P.S. the 2 or 3 vocal people who talked about session are idiots–unfortunately one of those idiots is our governor– please just ignore them.
