May 3rd, 2010 on 10:55 AM
(It’s working fine now, on iTunes at least)
oK guys, gotta say I’m a liittlee bit pissed off. Don’t get me wrong, I abslutely LOVE this show, and this episode, btu seriously – would it kill you to at least mention the UK election, which is one of the most imortant and, dare I say it, exciting ones we’ve had in years?! If something like this was going on in the US you wouldn’t have stopped talking about it over the last few weeks, but because it’s in the UK it seems like you’ve just chosen to largely ignore it. It’s not even as if you don’t know anything about it – it would honestly take you all about half an hour to do some background reading on it, I even posted a heap of links in the comments for the last episode. When your next episode goes out the election will have taken place, and I seriously expect at least SOME discussion over it!! Remember, there are political systems apart from yours that matter – and the UK PM, whoever it turns out to be, will be working closely with Obama. So PLEASE, guys, do a little reasearch and cater to your international listners, while broadening the horizons of your national listeners!
Sorry for the rant, but this really is an important issue, and you’re missing the opportunity for some briliant discussions!!! <3
May 3rd, 2010 on 12:12 PM
amen to magicmarker ! The UK election is possibly the biggest thing to happen in the uk (politicly) since the Iraq war. Can you you not just mention it in passing? Briefly mention Conservatives, BNP, Labour or Lib Dems? I love y’all but you need to be more relevant to your listeners across the pond! If you’re stuggling understanding it, message me, but PLEASE talk about it, it’s on THURSDAY.
May 3rd, 2010 on 12:38 PM
Yay!!! It downloaded over night. Listening now…
May 3rd, 2010 on 1:41 PM
you guys completely missed the point with the whole glee thing…the show has not jumped the shark andrdew…maybe if younwatched the show you would know its better now than its ever been
the music is great, and while being fluff, it has a unique energy and lvitaliy that will give it staying power
May 3rd, 2010 on 1:48 PM
Cheers Ellie ^.^ I’ll definitely be sending in an email explaining a bit about the parties and what the general opinion is ‘on the ground’, so to speak xD
May 3rd, 2010 on 4:01 PM
i love glee. i love the music and their voices. i’ve heard songs that i’ve never heard before and have gotten the original and the glee version and i listen to both. but sometimes i do just get the glee versions and not the originals because i don’t like the song enough to hear the original version; for the ones that i really love i usually get the originals too. i’ve heard most of the songs they sing before and sometimes i don’t like the original version (like most of the madonna songs), but i do like the glee versions. and sometimes i don’t like the glee version and i do like the original. the songs aside, i love the show. it’s entertaining, i love most of the characters and the shorelines are usually interesting. so long story short loving glee has made me spend tons of money on songs, but i don’t care because they’re fun to listen too.
May 3rd, 2010 on 4:27 PM
Wow. I love how everybody is either pissed because they can’t download the episode or pissed about something you did or did not say. Haha.
May 3rd, 2010 on 5:19 PM
Laura’s still in Costa Rica? I’m going to be there the last week of June for a Spanish class trip. It would be weird if I tried to stalk here there though
May 3rd, 2010 on 8:08 PM
OMG!! I downloaded the episode this morning and now I’ve finished work and am listening to it again. Then it just occurred to me *gasp!* I forgot to thank Penny. Who I cried to yesterday coz it was a no go. Soooo…. Big bear hug and sloppy smooches to Penny!!!!
May 3rd, 2010 on 8:23 PM
Andrew is a glutton for punishment, the gleeks are not happy. LMAO!!!
May 4th, 2010 on 10:46 AM
I think Andrew was a bit harsh and judgemental about Glee and its viewers. He has even tweeted a few times about the episodes he was currently watching, so he’s sort of dropping himself into the Glee watchers category. I have never, ever downloaded a Glee version of a song, nor do I plan to even though I always watch the show. I’m not pissed off like some people, I just never expected Andrew to insult so many of his listeners by calling the show pathetic and all the other things he said. Quite funny how this has caused more controversy than the serious issues this show has sometimes raised! Love the show, you should do a controversal segment of the week to keep things heated up!
May 4th, 2010 on 1:30 PM
Elysa is now my new favorite because she loves Remus Lupin and hates Ginny Weasley.:)
May 4th, 2010 on 2:36 PM
I have to disagree with Andrew on how people only listen to the Glee versions of songs and not the originals. I’ve created an entire iTunes playlist dedicated to the original songs which I listen to a lot more than the Glee versions. So yes Andrew, Gleeks are listening to the originals.
May 4th, 2010 on 5:00 PM
Another quick comment from some gleeker who is too lazy to e-mail you all.
Andrew, you are a doll. You crack me up. And you’re right about the some of the little kids who run and say: “Glee did it best!” But don’t worry I am a Glee fan who has your back.
I threw a copy of The Doors c.d. at my sister’s friends after they heard the cover of “Hello, I Love You”. They learned to know the original. =]
May 4th, 2010 on 7:10 PM
I’m not a Glee fan. I’ve only watched it once. Anyways, I just wanted to say that after hearing “Hello, I love You” on Glee, I loved it so much that I went to download the song, not Glee’s verion but the original one. So there you go Sims.
P.S. I do get annoyed with friends who facebook about it 24/7.
May 5th, 2010 on 6:21 AM
Regarding the whole Glee controversy, I get what both sides are saying. Andrew has a point with the Gleeks. They’re EFFIN RIDICULOUS. They cry at some of the cliche dramatic moments that make me suspect that they don’t watch that much good-quality television shows. I also agree with his statement that some people forget the fact that the songs that were used in the episodes were just covers of original songs, and they come to a conclusion that the makers of Glee are such geniuses for making good songs, which is unfair for the part of the artists that sang the original songs in the first place (much like what “artists” (I emphasize the “”) here do in the Philippines. They make their own versions of songs like “Single Ladies” and “Bad Romance”, and some of them didn’t even ask permission to the record comapanies).
However, I also agree with Penny in a lot of points. Not all Glee fans are the same. Some are definitely aware that these songs are covers, and because they enjoyed how the Glee cast performed the songs used on the show, they will definitely seek out the original. Example for this was the “Hello, I Love You” number from episode fourteen. I LOVED the cover, and it also made me intrigued to check out the original, and I definitely love the original more. Before Glee, I have never heard of The Doors, and after discovering them thanks to Glee, I’m now following their discography.
Nobody’s wrong or right in this debate. Everyone has a point. It’s just the dumbass fans that are the problem.
May 5th, 2010 on 6:24 AM
Also, if I may add, I agree with Penny and Elysa. Micah’s definitely changed in some ways. Back in the earlier episodes, he was a bit shy and often laidback, but during the recent episodes, he has adapted this humorous fratboy persona, and he’s becoming a bit restless, like Matt and Andrew. There’s nothing wrong with that, but still, the change is definitely noticable.
PS: Elysa, you two-timing bitch :p

Hey guys love the show but a few things id like to say fuck the British election im English but Kin jonnil is my man. Im a pretty hardcore cronic masterbator and gamer which go hand in hand during loading times ( you can call me speedy).I understand you talk about what you talk about which is cool and all but I just wanted to say as a gamer id love to hear your thought’s. Things like MW2 and the no Russian scene should have atleast gotten on your radar and im shoch to see it didnt make that 100 greatest things from an to 2000-2010 list. (ps the WII doen’t count nintendo pretty much turned it’s back on whole generation of gamers that supported it in the days of old 2 bit graphics. While I am not one of them I still thank my elders for with out them I would not have what I have today. but seeing as this is going on for abit Penny arcade made the list you talked about they are 2 online cartoonist who represent the hardcore gamers (fyi hardcore gamers play everything from Roleplaying tp MMO’s to point and click puzzle games). But to finish off Id like to say 3 things the guys behind MW2 were fired. Steam is now coming to the mac. And finally Gizmodo are the fucking parasites of the tecno community who do not deserve to be called journerlist. In an unboxing video they insult the collecters edition of Halo 3 the Mario sonic and pac man of the xbox console (posterchild). In an apologly video they rebox it and throw it out of a 4 story window. They were given this by microsoft for free before the game launched. During some sort of E3 event during which people give presentations that they have prepared months before hand to show the world there tecnology. so instead of doing there job or enjoying the experience that millions of people would love to do they spend there time enjoying making other people suther by using a device called TV begone . Once again they were invited to this event and they spit back at the people who gave them it. But what got to me most of all out of the podcast is one of your host writing it off as not a big deal and that at least they get some hype out of it made me spit out what I was drinking. You guys really surprised me here but well iv made a list. 1 how much money do you think went into making this and how much has probably went into the advertisment planing and unveiling of this product and how many people have spent the time on it ? in this type of market were tecnology is such a big thing timing and hype is just as important as the product in question. 2 Apple is constantly phoning the mobile trying to get it back before they blocked it how many time’s do you think they called him before they blocked it? 3 he didn’t return to the bar as soon as he found it which is what every decent human being would do. 4 it is against the law anbd it seems you are ok with punishing the thief but not the person who payed him so the hitman is guilty not the one who hired him ?. 5 In many states I think in Californa that it is against the law to unveil or to report on tecnology that the company is keeping secret. now maybe non of the reasons above are good enough for you but one more thing that you guys didn’t talk about piracy. Just recently some kid from America decoded the Sony psp (software) this was kept low and what this means is that it is alot easier for people to prate the device while im sure Sony compensated this guy for his findings how much software protection do you think this prototype had. Gizmodo could have potentally could destroyed the whole goddamn thing I love you guys and im sorry if I sound selfrightous or judgemental but it’s late and I need to masterbate love your freindly neighborhood Muppetlord050 (sorry if it’s long)

I think I speak for everyone when I say ‘carlos is a twat’.
May 8th, 2010 on 11:18 AM
This isn’t a big issue, but Penny’s mic during this episode drove me CRAZY. Her audio kept going from high to low levels. Just a heads up so you guys can fix it.
May 9th, 2010 on 11:43 AM
In response to the Glee debate, I am a fifteen year-old girl and although I don’t follow the show religiously, it has inspired me to listen to the original songs. I also have to say that the Glee versions of the songs are pretty good. They obviously are not as good as the originals, but they are way better than the “KidzBop” versions of songs.
